Usuma Dam (Abuja's Aqua-Paradise)

So, you may have been to Abuja quite a lot of times. However, if you have never visited Usman Dam, then you may need to recheck your bucket list. Located in Ushafa Bwari, this beauty is beyond just an imagination and can serve a lot of purposes. If you’re new to Abuja, you may add this to your bucket list of places to visit.

Usman Dam’s Nature

Usman Dam is a man-made dam that is surrounded by an outstretched lake and tall mountains. It is also a favorite spot for picnics and hiking. One of the most interesting things about this place is that the entrance is free. The Usman Dam is host to a lot of inhabitants. Also, if you take a walk on the elevated walkway, you may be told that you are walking on the dam. The dam is one of the major source of water and light supply to the Federal Capital territory.

Every year

The Dam hosts over 1 million tourists every year. However, it is important to be as careful as you can. The rocks can be very slippery. Thus, it’s necessary that you come prepared; make sure you’re wearing the perfect footwear if you intend to hike. Asides the steep rocks, if you’re afraid of heights, you may need to not look down. The vastness of the lake may be a little scary and you have to ensure that you stay in the middle. For drivers, driving on the dam may be very tricky. Its best to drive slow. This is because there are so many gravels on the floor and you may miss a step if you’re speeding and fall into the lake.  The dam is also quite suitable for swimming.

The Excitement

There is really no dull moment at this beautiful paradise. If you’re a really nature person, this is about one of the best places to meditate and socialize with people. Also, it is one of the best places for photography. The pictures you take are sure to make you thrilled.
